The Church in West Bretton Anglican/Methodist Local Ecumenical Partnership Go back

The Church in West Bretton is a Methodist/Anglican partnership. However, our
congregation includes people with backgrounds in many other types of church.
Our Sunday morning services usually last between 45 minutes to an hour.
Traditional services other than Holy Communion begin at 10.30am and follow
well-established patterns, with hymns, prayers, and music together with a
sermon or address. Holy Communion services are held on the second Sunday
(Methodist) at 9.30 am and on the fourth Sunday at 9.15 am (Anglican). For
communion, we stand in a semi-circle around the Altar.
A warm welcome is assured to children and families and you may sit wherever
you feel most comfortable!
Generally, the service is led from the front of the church by a Minister or worship
leader, who guides everyone through the service by book or service sheet and
occasionally TV or video presentations. Members of the congregation are
welcome to sit or stand as they feel comfortable for the different parts of the
service.
All our services are intended to help us meet with God in worship and to feel the
love he has for us.
During the service, an offering is invited to show our commitment and love to
God by making a contribution to the ongoing life of the Church. No one has to
make an offering of money if they prefer not to.
At the end of the service fellowship continues with tea or coffee.
