Meet the Team

Revd Philip Bee
Superintendent

I have been a Methodist minister for the past 23 years, serving in Coventry, Huddersfield, Leeds and now the present circuit (since 2014). In my present role, I am keen to see our churches re-engaging with children and their families as a way of growing the church.

In the Bible, I have a great admiration for the rather contrary Old Testament prophet, Jeremiah, who in the midst of one of Israel’s darkest moments offers hope for a bright future. I also love the gospel stories, especially as shaped by Luke and John.

I believe in a Church turned out towards the world, and presently convene the Joint Public Issues Team for Yorkshire, which addresses social, political and economic issues from a Christian perspective. I love a game of golf, when the opportunity and weather present themselves. I have recently been persuaded to take up dancing, which I have discovered makes me laugh.

Minister day off: Saturday

Revd Nick Biggar
Presbyter Minister

This is my first appointment as a Methodist minister, and I am delighted to be here with you in the Denby Dale and Clayton West Circuit. Before becoming a Methodist minister, I worked for many years in the IT industry, undertaking many roles and eventually becoming a Program and Project Manager with a multi-national IT Company.

I enjoy a nice cup of coffee and having a chat with people and probably enjoy food too much!  I like gadgets, movies – especially Sci-fi and I also like to think I have a great taste in music although I know my children would strongly disagree with this statement.

Working in IT industry was an enjoyable experience for me, but I discovered something far more fulfilling in my life and felt compelled to share the good news that Jesus Christ brings into people’s lives, as he did in my own.

I’m passionate to see all people flourish the way God intended and want to challenge injustice and oppression that hold people back. I love to worship a God who cares and want to see the church present in our communities, serving and positively affecting all people of all ages.

Anna Barron

Circuit Administrator

This is my first official role in the world of administration, although being a primary school teacher for 20 years has equipped me with lots of the skills needed to help oversea the smooth running of the Circuit. I love to bake and sing -quite out of tune  but I am sure God doesn’t mind! I am looking forward to helping the people of the circuit move forward in their mission work and make a real difference to the lives of the people in the communities we serve.
