Meet the Team
Revd Philip Bee
I have been a Methodist minister for the past 23 years, serving in Coventry, Huddersfield, Leeds and now the present circuit (since 2014). In my present role, I am keen to see our churches re-engaging with children and their families as a way of growing the church.
In the Bible, I have a great admiration for the rather contrary Old Testament prophet, Jeremiah, who in the midst of one of Israel’s darkest moments offers hope for a bright future. I also love the gospel stories, especially as shaped by Luke and John.
I believe in a Church turned out towards the world, and presently convene the Joint Public Issues Team for Yorkshire, which addresses social, political and economic issues from a Christian perspective. I love a game of golf, when the opportunity and weather present themselves. I have recently been persuaded to take up dancing, which I have discovered makes me laugh.

Minister day off: Saturday
Revd Alan Wilthew
I have been a Methodist minister for thirteen years serving in the Leeds District and in this present Circuit. I previously worked in the communications industry before being called into ministry. Before circuit ministry I lived in the North East of England and so support the football team known as the Magpies. I have a passion to see people know our Lord Jesus personally and to make him known.
Supported by my wife Vanessa we love to see all ages enjoying and worshipping in the abundant life that God provides. I am excited by the circuits plans for the future and the opportunities it will create to bring people into the kingdom. I enjoy walking, especially in the Lake District and taking photographs along the way.

Families and Children’s Worker, Full-time
I have grown up in the Methodist tradition and first attend church aged 7. I became a member at age 12 and started helping to run Sunday School when I returned home from University. At University I studied to become a primary school teacher but after graduating back in 2004 was unable to get a full time job. I eventually got a job as an Administrator for a Construction firm where I spent the next 8 and a half years working my way up into Health, Safety and the Environment.
While working in Construction I trained to be a local preacher and gained my accreditation in April 2015. I have always loved working with children and over the past 10 years developed a passion for working in the church to spread the gospel and see the church grow. I have many interests and hobbies including, singing, cross stitch, reading, walking, and camping.

Families and Children’s Worker, Part-time
My name is Andrew Hunter. I am married to Reverend Stephanie Hunter and we live in Cumberworth with our wee dog, Skye. I originally come from Glasgow, and I have been
working with children and families for over 20 years for various churches and I love it. I have a passion for history, art and anything geeky and I love a good chat and finding out about folk.
Originally from the Black Country I’ve now settled in this area, and am still learning the language of Yorkshire!
For a number of years I worked for the Christian youth charity Girls’ Brigade, coordinating the operational and finance aspects of GB’s national ministry amongst girls. I’ve loved the role, especially as it was through GB that I came to personal faith.
Now though I’m enjoying working in the Circuit, getting to know people in the immediate community and supporting the work of our churches as we seek to engage local people into the story of Jesus.
I’m loving being here in Denby Dale & Clayton West Circuit….just wish it was by the sea!
